Seadanse is a browser-based AI video creation platform built around Seedance 2.5, ByteDance's video generation model launched July 31, 2026. It supports text to video, image to video, and motion transfer, producing cinematic clips with a native soundtrack rendered in the same pass as the frames. The platform also offers AI image models, including GPT Image 2.5, and an AI Video Agent that turns a brief or script into a storyboarded, rendered video for brand promotion and advertising.
Sign-up is free and includes free starter credits — enough to render your first clips with no card on file. After that, renders cost credits, and the exact cost is shown on the Generate button before you submit. All video models share one credit balance, and all image models share one credit balance, so you switch model per render rather than per subscription. How long can my videos be, and at what resolution? On Seadanse you render 5 to 30 second clips at 480p, 720p or 1080p, in six aspect ratios. The Seedance 2.5 model also has a 180-second beta long-video mode, which isn't available on Seadanse yet.
What's new in Seedance 2.5 vs Seedance 2.0? Longer single-pass generation, up to 50 multimodal references at the model level, region-level editing, and audio-video joint generation — plus roughly 20% better prompt adherence than 2.0, by ByteDance's own measure.
How do reference images and driving clips work? Switch to image to video or motion transfer, upload your reference images or a driving clip — up to 2 files per render, depending on mode — and the render locks identity, wardrobe, style, or motion to them. The model itself accepts up to 50 multimodal references — images, video, and audio; Seadanse exposes up to 2 today.
How does the native soundtrack work? Seedance 2.5 is an audio-video joint generation model: music, foley, and ambience render in the same pass as the frames, synced to the cut. You download one MP4 with sound — no separate audio step.
Can I use my Seedance 2.5 videos commercially? Yes — under our terms, your renders are yours to use in ads, monetized posts, and client work. Clear likeness and trademark rights for any reference images you upload.
Do I need a Chinese phone number or account? No. Seedance 2.5 launched first inside ByteDance's own apps, but Seadanse runs in your browser worldwide — sign up with an email address and generate.
