What is Wheel Picker
Wheel Picker is a free browser-based tool for making random selections. It functions as a picker wheel and random name picker that lets you spin a wheel to choose a name, number, team, or winner. The tool runs entirely in your browser, with no sign-up required and no data uploaded to any server. It supports 18 languages and offers 39 ready-made wheels for various purposes.
How to use Wheel Picker
- Type or paste your list: Enter one item per line. You can paste a class register, a column from a spreadsheet, a CSV file, or start from a ready-made picker wheel.
- Set the odds and the look: Adjust entry weights, assign colors, add photos, or leave the defaults. The wheel picker shows each entry's real percentage as you type.
- Spin and act on the result: Keep the winner on the wheel, remove them so the next spin picks someone new, or let the wheel tally wins across several rounds.
Features of Wheel Picker
- Weighted entries: Give an entry a weight of 3 and it takes three times the space and three times the chance. Real percentages are shown as you type.
- Three spin modes: Keep (winner stays), Eliminate (winner leaves), and Tally (counts add up over several spins).
- Photo entries: Add images that are resized in the browser and drawn onto the slices.
- Share by link: The entire wheel is encoded in the URL, so sharing works instantly without an account. Also supports QR codes and embedding via iframe.
- Customization: 21 color palettes, 8 surfaces, 3 pointers, 6 spin sounds, and 8 celebrations. You can also add a title above the wheel.
- No uploads: Entries, images, and results stay in your browser. No account, no database, no server sees your list.
- Persistence: Your entries, results, and settings are saved in your browser and reloaded when you return.
- Up to 2000 entries: Past a few hundred, the wheel stops drawing every slice for readability, but every entry still has the same chance.
- 18 languages: The wheel picker and every template are translated.
- 39 ready-made wheels: Categories include decisions, numbers and letters, names and teams, classroom, food and drink, party games, everyday life, and colors.
Use Cases of Wheel Picker
- Calling on a class: Load the register, switch on eliminate mode, and every pupil is asked before anyone is asked twice.
- Drawing a giveaway winner: Paste the entrant list, spin on camera, and download the result list as a CSV for records. Eliminate mode prevents the same person winning twice.
- Deciding what to eat: Use tally mode over three rounds to settle on a restaurant.
- Running a stand-up: Use the wheel for speaking order so the same person does not always go first.
- Playing party games: Truth or dare, forfeits, would you rather, and more, with confetti and sound.
- Splitting chores: Weight the jobs nobody wants so they come up less often.
- Classroom activities: Random country, US state, debate topic, brain break, ice breaker question.
- Everyday decisions: Chore wheel, workout roulette, date night ideas, movie night picker, travel destination, gift ideas, baby name picker.
