- Does my code leave my machine? Some session context (tool calls, decisions, code snippets) is sent to your chosen narration provider (Gemini or OpenAI) for narration. This data goes directly from your machine to the provider. Agent FM has no server, proxy, or telemetry; your API key is encrypted on-device, and your session content is not seen by Agent FM.
- Will Agent FM slow down my Claude or Codex sessions? No. Agent FM operates as a separate process, passively observing session output without proxying, intercepting, or wrapping your agents. Your Claude Code and Codex sessions will not be slowed down.
- How much does it cost? Agent FM is free and open-source. Users pay their chosen model provider for narration tokens.
- Which agents does Agent FM support? Currently, it supports Claude Code and Codex. Cursor support is planned for the future.
- Does Agent FM replace my terminal or editor? No. Agent FM complements your existing tools. You can continue using Claude Code, Codex, and your editor as usual, with Agent FM providing ambient narration alongside them.
