What is BetterZap

BetterZap is a Chrome extension that auto-replies to clients on WhatsApp Web, schedules messages, and keeps a simple client CRM. It is designed for small businesses such as clinics, salons, shops, freelancers, and resellers. The extension works through WhatsApp Web in your own browser, so there is no need for the official WhatsApp API. It offers a free tier and a subscription plan.

How to use BetterZap

1. Install the extension and keep WhatsApp Web signed in. BetterZap opens the tab for you when a message is due.
2. Write a message or pick a template, choose a contact, and schedule it. You can queue several messages at once, each to one person.
3. At the scheduled time, BetterZap sends through WhatsApp Web, confirms it, and marks it as Sent. If it can’t confirm, it asks you.

For auto-reply, choose a ready-made model for your business (clinic, salon, shop, or freelancer), fill in your details (name, hours, address), and turn it on. The text is already written, and you can edit any model or create your own from scratch.

FAQ

Does auto-reply work with my computer off?
No. It answers while Chrome is open and WhatsApp Web is signed in.

Does it use the official WhatsApp API?
No. BetterZap works through WhatsApp Web in your own browser, so there is nothing to apply for and no per-message fee from Meta. The trade-off is that Chrome has to be open.

Can it send when my computer is off?
No. It needs Chrome running with WhatsApp Web signed in. If the time passes while Chrome is closed, the message is marked Late and waits for your approval when you are back.

Where is my data stored?
In the extension’s storage in your browser. If you turn on the panel on your phone, a copy also stays in a hidden folder in your own Google Drive. The one exception is the Premium plan’s AI chatbot, if you turn it on: to write each reply, your knowledge base and the recent messages of that conversation pass through our server to Anthropic, which provides the AI, and our server doesn’t keep them. Uninstalling the extension removes its data, so export a CSV first if you want a copy.

Can I manage everything from the website?
Yes. On the computer where the extension is installed, the Panel page shows the extension’s own screen. On your phone, sign in with Google and the same panel opens, once you’ve turned that on from your computer. Messages still go out only from the computer, so Chrome has to be open there for anything to send.

Can I send the same message to many people?
BetterZap is made for personal follow-ups, one message to one person at a time. It is not designed for bulk sending.

Which languages does it support?
The extension and this website are available in English and Portuguese.

Which countries does it work in?
Anywhere WhatsApp Web works. Your WhatsApp contacts come in as they are, and a new number just needs its country code, like +44 7911 123456. Adding a new contact from BetterZap only works for numbers in the country your WhatsApp is set to, but you can still message any other number by typing it.

How much does it cost?
It is free for up to 20 messages a day, with no account needed, and each free message ends with a BetterZap link. A subscription removes the daily limit and the link, and adds auto-reply: US$ 5 a week or US$ 10 a month, and you can try that free for 7 days with no card. You can also pay US$ 2 once for a single day. In Brazil you can also pay once with Pix, which does not renew by itself. You can cancel any time.
