What is nebulabank
Nebula is a financial technology platform offering an AI-native bank account designed for companies whose biggest expense is machine time. It provides a unified ledger for every inference bill, agent, and dollar, with automatic attribution, capping, and reconciliation. The account is built for AI companies to manage spending on models, GPU hours, and API calls, issue scoped cards for agents, and forecast runway from real usage.
How to use nebulabank
- Apply & verify (Day 1): Complete a 12-minute application and a two-hour KYB verification. Receive an account number the same afternoon. No branch visit or minimum balance required.
- Connect & sync (Day 2): Link your inference and compute vendors. Historical spend is backfilled so your first month is comparable. Vendor connections are read-only by default.
- Issue & cap (Day 3): Create virtual cards for agents via API or dashboard. Each card is bound to a policy with limits, merchant allowlists, and expiry. Policies are enforced at the card network.
- Automate & reconcile (Day 4): Automate spend attribution, receipt matching, and runway forecasting. Set burn alerts and let idle cash sweep automatically.
Features of nebulabank
- Spend control: One ledger for every model, GPU hour, and API call. Vendor bills are pre-coded to agent, environment, and customer. Supports 40+ inference and compute vendors with attribution down to individual calls.
- Agent accounts: Issue virtual Visa cards to agents with their own budget and audit trail. Revoke with one API call without affecting production. Limits enforced at the card network.
- Treasury: Runway modeled from real usage slope, not monthly averages. Idle cash sweeps automatically, and burn alerts arrive before invoices.
- Payouts: Pay research vendors, contractors, and data partners in 31 corridors with FX quoted upfront.
- Card issuing: Virtual cards live instantly via API. Policies include ceilings, merchant allowlists, spend windows, and approval thresholds. Cards can be single-use, recurring, or locked to one merchant. Freeze or revoke in under a second. Physical cards available for team members.
- Automated reconciliation: Every charge is coded to agent, model, and environment with receipts attached automatically.

FAQ
Is Nebula a bank?
No, Nebula is a financial technology company. Deposits are held at FDIC-insured partner institutions, and cards are issued by a regulated partner.
Who can open an account?
Companies formed in any US state, DC, or Puerto Rico with an EIN. Founders and 25%+ owners can be citizens of the US, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, India, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, the UK, or Uruguay. Sanctioned regions are not served.
How does an agent get a card?
One API call creates a virtual card bound to a policy (monthly ceiling, merchant allowlist, environment, expiry). The agent receives a scoped credential, not production keys. Revocation is a second call and takes effect at the network level within a second.
What happens if an agent overspends?
Limits are enforced at authorisation before money moves, so overspending is declined. Every decline is logged with the policy and agent details.
Do we have to migrate existing accounts?
No. Most customers keep their operating account and route inference, cloud, and agent spend through Nebula. Vendor connections are read-only by default, and historical spend is backfilled.
How is our data used?
Transaction data is never used to train models or sold. Vendor credentials are held in an isolated vault, and access is logged immutably.
What does it cost?
No platform fee on the Growth plan. Cards, authorisations, and domestic ACH are free. Pay per-payout fees and FX spreads on international transfers, plus usage beyond plan allowances.
