Veena

What is Veena

Veena is an AI-powered browser-based digital audio workstation (DAW) with a built-in personal music producer called CoProducer. It allows musicians to create, edit, and mix music directly in their web browser without downloads. CoProducer generates audio and MIDI layer by layer inside the session, enabling users to direct, choose, or record each part rather than prompting for a finished song. Founded in May 2025 by Palaash Agrawal in Los Angeles, Veena aims to make music production intuitive and accessible, especially for artists who may lack access to expensive studios or complex software.

How to use Veena

1. Open Veena in your web browser (no installation required).
2. Describe the song you want to create, or start by recording your own vocals or instruments.
3. CoProducer, the AI music producer, will plan the song and generate parts such as beats, chords, melody, arrangement, and mix.
4. For each new part, CoProducer offers three options; you pick the one you like.
5. Edit, mix, and arrange the generated tracks using the full DAW interface (timeline, piano roll, mixer, etc.).
6. Collaborate with other musicians in real time by sharing your project.
7. Export your finished track as WAV, MP3, MIDI, or stems (individual tracks) with no caps or watermarks.

FAQ

Why are we building Veena?
We all know someone who can sing really well or play an instrument but struggles to make a full track because they don't know how to use complex software or don't have access to expensive studios and producers. So we built Veena to help those artists create music in a way that's intuitive to their creative process.

What makes Veena different from other DAWs?
Veena is the first DAW designed from the ground up with AI integration. Instead of just adding AI features to an existing platform, we built every aspect of Veena to work seamlessly with AI Agents, making music creation more intuitive and powerful.

Does Veena replace musicians?
No. Veena is built for musicians. CoProducer, your personal music producer, does the production work you ask for, offers options instead of final answers, and you make every creative call. Your recordings, your taste and your songs stay at the centre, and you own everything you make in Veena.

Do I need any music theory knowledge to use Veena?
Not at all! Veena's AI understands music theory so you don't have to. You can create professional-sounding music by humming melodies, describing the mood you want, or even just experimenting. The AI handles the technical aspects while you focus on creativity.

Can I use my existing VST plugins with Veena?
Yes. Install the free Veena Bridge helper once and Veena loads your own VST3 and AU plugins on Mac and VST3 plugins on Windows, instruments and effects alike. CoProducer can use them too, starting from real presets. And if you'd rather not dig through your plugin folder, Veena's 61 built-in instrument presets, 7 drum kits and built-in effects have you covered.

How does the AI CoProducer actually work?
Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser. It reads your whole project, plans the song, then writes the parts: parts that depend on each other are written in order, so the bassline locks to the kick that is really there. For every new part it offers three options and you pick. It also builds around your own recordings and turns your humming into any instrument.

Is my music data secure and private?
Absolutely. Your music and creative data are encrypted and stored securely. We never share your compositions or use them to train our models. You maintain full ownership and control of everything you create.

Can I collaborate with other musicians using Veena?
Yes, you can collaborate with other musicians using Veena. You can share your project and build your song together in real time.

Is there a mobile version of Veena?
Veena runs in your browser on laptops and desktops — Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook — with nothing to install and no graphics card needed. Veena on your phone, Pocket Studio, lets you record ideas and start songs with CoProducer wherever you are, then pick them up on your laptop.

How often do you release new features?
We release updates regularly, typically every week. We're a small team right now but we love what we're doing and are committed to making Veena the best it can be. Join our Discord to see what's coming next and share your ideas!

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time with no questions asked. You'll continue to have access to Veena until the end of your current billing period, and you can always reactivate later.

Is Veena really free?
Yes. Veena's Basic tier is completely free — you get full access to the DAW, AI-assisted features, and core production tools. The Pro plan at $20/month removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models.
