What is AgentGit

AgentGit is a version control system for agent sessions. It makes every agent session easy to save, share, and continue. The platform allows users to explore how others solve problems and share their own agent experiences with the world.

How to use AgentGit

1. Install AgentGit by running the following command in your terminal:

   npx -y create-agit
   

   Alternatively, you can ask your agent to set it up by copying this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or OpenCode:

   Install according to https://agent-git.com/docs/quickstart/
   

2. Import sessions from supported AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode.

3. Hand off or share a session:

   • To let someone continue a session, copy this prompt into your agent:

     Use AgentGit to hand off this session so someone else can continue from where I stopped. Follow https://agent-git.com/docs/sharing/.
     

   • To share a session for viewing, copy this prompt:

     Use AgentGit to create a secure, read-only link for this session. Follow https://agent-git.com/docs/sharing/.
     

4. Set up remote collaboration:

   • Copy this prompt into your agent:

     Set up AgentGit Remote Control so I can use the agent on this computer from another device. Then guide me to create a workspace invite link so others can join and collaborate. Follow https://agent-git.com/docs/remote-control/.
     

5. Explore public sessions by browsing the Agent Session Hub, where you can open any project to see the instructions, attempts, tool calls, results, and decisions behind it.

Features of AgentGit

• Session saving and transfer: Saves and transfers the complete session, so work can continue from where it left off.
• Handoff and sharing: One session can be passed on in two ways—let someone continue the work or share a read-only link for viewing.
• Remote control and collaboration: Use your agent remotely from your phone or another computer, and invite others to join, send prompts, follow progress, and handle approvals.
• Import sessions: Import sessions from AI agents including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode.
• Public session hub: Explore public sessions to see the full process behind projects, including instructions, attempts, tool calls, results, and decisions.
• Local storage: Your machine keeps a local store under ~/.agit/.
• Git-based storage: Sessions live in git repositories on the hub you push to—by default agent-git.com.
